Rhubarb under decid fruit trees?
I have gotten a lot of rhubarb roots and was wondering where to fit them in?
Anyone have any experience or knowledge about planting them under decid. fruit trees? I was thinking that the rhubarb will be pretty much done by the time the fruit trees are fully in leaf. ?
Will the rhubarb do ok without much water in the summer?
thanks,

The best rhubarb I grew was in full sun and moist soil. What I have now is in a hot dry area and it is skimpy. Leasa

Ditto about the full sun... I thought rhubarb needed cold winters as well.

If you can give summer water they will do well without being in full sun. To be good Rhubarb needs to be growing without stress caused from lack of soil moisture. For most families a couple of mature plants will supply all the Rhubarb you can use. Al
