Adenium Obesum planting media

Can anyone tell me how to mix the correct media to plant my adenium obesums? I have 6 of them. Two of them are in 8 inch bonsai pots and are seedlings doing very well and 4 of them are in 7 and 9 inch glazed ceramic bloosom pots. I have them planted in a mixture of cactus soil, builders sand, pea gravel and perlite and I topped it with pea gravel. Since the pot is so deep I used about 3 inches of pea gravel on the bottom, above that about two inches of sand and on top of the sand before I put in the planting media about an inch of perlite. Everytime I water the bloosom pots every two weeks I get yellowing leaves. I use a water meter and it always reads dry before I water them. I keep reading about people using coconut bark husks. Can anyone give my the correct mixture to use where I don't have this problem or have to worry about the caudex rotting?

Maybe the link below will help. Try the Cacti & Succulent forum, you might find some help over there.
