Dry tips on asters and solidago

Does anyone know what causes this. This happens on tips. They get dry and die. Purple dome aster will turn totally brown, then leaf out a little and bloom.

Brown leaf tips is usually caused from salts in the soil. It could come from the mineral content of the irrigation water or fertilizer salts. You may have soil with boron or another mineral carried through the vascular system to the leaf tips and not being able to transpire out with the moisture. Al
