'annual membership dues'?

| A MG mentioned that they paid these to the MG program. I don't know any of the programs did this! We don't have it in the Twin Cities. Does your MG program charge annual membership dues? How much? |

| No dues here unless you join the state MG association. Our local MGs don't have an organization and decided we were doing just fine without one. Less time taken away from our volunteer activities and less hassle with "politics." |

| Membership in the follow on MG Association is voluntary. dues is $15 per year, $5 going to the state Assoc. Those who join the Assoc. are the ones who are interested in volunteering and in the interesting presentations and trips we have each month. |

| This is going to vary greatly depending on state/county organizations; each location has to consider their unique situation and needs. We are the "Travis County (Texas) Master Gardener Association", a 501(c)3 organization; our membership dues are $12.00 per year, a portion of which goes to the "Texas MG Association" and to the "Austin Area Garden Council" of which we are a member club or should I say, service organization – this affords us a place to meet (Zilker Botanical Gardens) , volunteer and hold our yearly MG Classes. After these are paid we are left with $7.00 (per member) which doesn’t begin to offset operating expenses or fund community outreach projects. We rely on fund raising and the generosity of our members, many of whom contribute their time and money to help bare the cost of projects they are involved with. Good luck, hope this helps… Tommie C.
