| In fall potpourri there is a item that looks like a mini pumpkin. It's most likely painted orange but the natural color would be tan or light brown since I opened one to look at the seeds inside. what I would like to know is what this is. I would like to grow some but have no idea what to look for. Any help would be apprecitated. |

| It is a putka pod, the seedpod of a tropical tree native to India. When fully ripened, dried and dyed, they look exactly like mini pumpkins, which they are often called. They have no relationship to pumpkins, however. And there IS a plant ID forum.....this one is not intended for that purpose. |
