My first class was 25 years ago so talk about "basic" , you could read the same information off the back of a seed package. At that time they didn't know how they were going to use the Master Gardeners and, you won't believe this, they did not keep records on current and previous classes So when they got ready to form a Master Gardener organization no one knew who had been trained. This was after graduating 4 or 5 classes. Luckily, in their calling around they stumbled on me and I had attendance rosters from years past but you'd think the Extension service would have at least saved that information?

I'm sorry I didn't see your post earlier. We have been having a great time in class and after. Our classes are far away for the first 7 sessions so 9 of us are carpooling. After class we get lunch and eat in a classmate's garden. It has been fun getting to know everyone.

The classes have been great for the most part. I only wish we could spend more time on each subject. There is so much to learn and the class can only cover the surface. I have learned so much already from years on the GardenWeb. Our last class was on Planting and Pruning. I understand the correct way to prune already but am very interested in the art of pruning. That will take awhile as I need to see the results meaning how the plant grows after.
