Help Me Identify???

I bought a plant this summer with sage colored spear shaped leaves on what became woody stems. It grew very fast with little fuss. It now stantd about 40" tall and is blooming dark purple and white salvia-type blooms that kind off limp over at the very tip. The hummingbirds love it. It's driving me crazy!!! What do you think it is???

Could it be a Penstemon? My Penstemon 'Husker Red' has finished blooming but others may have different bloom times.

It sounds like a salvia - I have one similar called Phyllis Fancy. Do a search on the net for salvias and you will get places that have pictures and id.

Sounds like mexican bush sage, Salvia leucantha.
