| I read that it officially began in the state of Washington...that's cool but is it true?.....

| The program began officially in 1973 in Washington State and has since spread to all 50 states and a few foreign countries. As a new MG-in-training, it might be valuable for you to peruse the WSU extension website and get a sense of the history of this program. Scroll down to the exerpt on the history and find out how the term "master gardener" originated. |

| Glad I came here tonight. I turned in my application today and await news next week that I'll be in the January class. Maybe it will impress the county agent, if I can spout some history of the program. ALice |
