Smith County MG Fall Seminar & Blulb Sale

If any of you are within shouting distqance ot Tyler, TX, this Saturday, September 1, the Smith County Master Gardeners will be holding their annual Fall Seminbar & Bulb Sale.

The Seminar is free and will feature Greg Grant & Keith Kridler, both specialists in southern heirloom bulbs.

Greg Grant, noted garden consultant, lecturer and writer from Arcadia, Texas, will speak on "Foolproof Bulbs for East Texas".

Greg Grant is the co-author of Southern Heirloom Gardens and is a regular contributor to Neil SperryÂs Gardens and The Texas Gardener magazines. He has traveled extensively to botanical and public gardens in the U.S. and Europe and is in great demand as a knowledgeable and entertaining speaker on gardening.

Keith Kridler, a bulb grower in Mt. Pleasant, Texas, will speak on "Planting and Care of Heirloom Bulbs". Mr. Kridler has developed an extensive collection of heirloom bulbs after starting with some old daffodils from his parents home. He has also won many awards at bulb flower shows through the years. He has spoken extensively on bulbs and bluebirds, which are another one of his hobbies.

The seminar will begin at 8:00 AM at the Tyler Rose Center in the Tyler Rose Garden. The sale of southern heirloom bulbs will begin immediately after the seminar ends at approximaately 11:30 AM.
