HAVE: Restless natives

Cuttings from hydrangea, a fragrant pink climbing rose that probably came in 30 years ago as rootstock for some long-forgotten hybrid tea; choke cherry; privet (very fragrant if you let it bloom!) wildflowers creeping buttercup, goldenrod, aster and fleabane; and of course good old tiger lily. I also have plenty of violas (3 colors) and violets, and a small amount of blue-eyed grass. Unfortunately on the violets I don't keep track of where the colors are, so I know I have white and blue, but couldn't tell you which is which until they're in bloom.

I am looking for some gooseberry that has been in maine for many years as it should not be brought in due to a disease it may not carry which would be harmful to other plants as well. Anyways I would like to make some currant jelly in maine and this would be the only sensible way for me to try it.

Good luck, The state is making people tear up even their old plants, so those who still have them are keeping it a secret.

dollmaker...do you have any secrets to share? I really want to make this jelly.

apology for not understanding

I did a google search and found that what you were saying was very real and true.

This is really sad as I really enjoy making gooseberry jam.

It is also sad that another plant that has history here in Maine is now out of the diversity list as one of Maines legal plants to grow freely here. :(

Here is a link that might be useful: Maines list of bad plants

I don't, I only knew one person and he chopped it down. :(

RE: HAVE: Restless natives

GardenGarden, I left everything as-is cause I never got to a swap - so there will be better cuttings next year!
