Neighbor sprays yard

Posted by newgardenelf (My Page) on

I have a chain link fence on one side of my yard. My neighbor sprays for ants and crab grass and something else? the guy who sprayed it couldn't even really tell me what it was? Is it at all safe to plant pole beans on my side of the fence? They usually spray at the end of May and I would have already planted by then..but I could also wait. I would love to use the fence to grow something edible but I also don't want to get sick....on the other hand can it be any worse than the veggies I buy in the store and eat? I want to be safe and smart but I also don't live in a bubble so I don't want to miss the opportunity either.

Sounds like he's spraying with multiple sprays - bug killer and an herbacide. Why chance it with something you'll eat.

that's what I keep deciding. I think I'll just plant some morning glories there.
