DH and I visited my MIL in Cumberland yesterday and she has tulips and daffodils through the ground! She lives close to the ocean (nope, no view) and she has a small sheltered bed on the east side of the house that is always WAY ahead of the rest of her yard. Anyway, there was lots of snow in the rest of her yard and this tiny bed was bare with green stuff showing - led me to believe that spring really is coming!

Only some crocus shoots showing up in one of the few patches in my yard where the snow has receded (underneath a big tree, so is sheltered and snow doesn't accumulate as much). I'll have to go check one of the gardens I work in. She has a "hot spot" on south side of house where the bulbs come up several weeks earlier than most.

Same here at my house. I have a large daffodil and tulip bed right up next to my foundation. Its gets sun pretty much all day. Mine are up a couple of inches. While the rest of the yard is snow covered. Only problem is the cats like to lay there and they layed right on them sunning the other day!

They are in full bloom in parts of illinois and missouri. Alos the magnolia tree are blooming. These places are what is getting me so anxie to get back to my own gardens. I overheard a woman in the restraunt brag that her forsythia was in full bloom! Its such a delightful tease to see what is coming our way!
