When do you all plant your peas?

Posted by staceyneil South Portland (My Page) on

I've been out of the state for several years and I can't remember when I used to plant my peas. I do tight succession planting in my tiny organic garden, so I like to get anything in that might benefit as early as possible.

A couple weeks ago it looked good for late March planting, but now with all the new snow I'm afraid the soil will be too wet. It's a raised bed, though, so that may help some. Any thoughts?

My goal is for the end of March, but if the soil is too wet I have to wait for April.

Mid to late April outdoor here. We still have several inches of snow but the sun's out, wind is blowing and it's 51°. It won't last long. I'll be planting peas in one of the greenhouses Sunday afternoon.
