Iris are blooming!

That's right! I have blooms on my Iris Reticulata! They are the cutest things!

I did lose a few things, like one of my Crown Imperials apparently didn't overwinter. But I have tulips coming up, Scilla, Chinodoixa, narcissi and I don't know what else!

A deer came through and apparently decided to take a few samplings....oh well...

I have always wanted to grow those. Isn't it nice to finally see some flowers?

They are really neat. 1 day hardly any green showing. A day or 2 later and it's a carpet of color. Another section of Iris Reticulata just started blooming yesterday and I also noticed some chinadoxa poking up in another, smaller, garden I started up last fall.

With the addition of the various perennials I'm starting this year, the gardens should start to look good next year, I think.

Wow, I live in North Carolina and my irises are just starting to bloom here!

Sigh

Something decided to nibble the flowers off one entire section of I Reticulata. I have 2 other swales blooming tho...hopefully they won't get eaten tonight.

Something also ate 3 of 4 brassicas I planted out yesterday. The 4th seems to be doing just fine tho...

Now...what to do about this trepidation?
