Does anyone know if these trees will survive in Central Me.? I see where they are being sold at Lowes in Bangor which is about an hour below where we live, but no white blossoming ones.I figured just because they are being sold here doesn't mean they will grow here??? We recently dug out a stump in our front yard and I would really like to have a white weeping cherry put in that area, but am very concerned if it will survive a winter like this last one! I told my husband not to fill that hole in until I had a tree for it and he's getting right antsy about it. We have only lived in Maine for 2 years so I am not too familiar with what will grow other than evergreens! Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I had a weeping cherry tree planted at my former home in Orono. I got it from a nursery and it did well. It was probably 4 feet tall. The only problem I had with it was japanese beetles in June. You can pick them off by hand. cindy

I have a dead white weeping cherry in my front yard right now. I am in Northern Maine, 14 miles from the border so I think it's a lot colder here than where you are. I wanted to plant a split leaf maple but was told it would not survive up here. Good Luck.
