Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, Boothbay/Barter's Island

Out of curiosity, did anyone go to the official opening of the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens on Barter's Island (Boothbay area) last week?

I visited there last summer while staying at a cottage on Barter's Island, and it was most impressive already, though not yet complete. Unfortunately, "my" cottage is all booked up this summer, and it looks like I'll not be back. But I'd be very interested in hearing other people's experiences.

(And if you haven't been, it's worth the trip.)

Here is a link that might be useful: The official site:

I am visiting Boothbay Harbor this weekend and hope to stop by. I'll let you know my impressions if I am lucky enough to visit the gardens.

I didn't go this year but visited last summer when they were even more "unfinished". I was absolutely impressed at the way the gardens speak "Maine". They have done a fantastic job.
