Fleabane, some kind of bluebell, Queen Anne's Lace, tiger lilies, lavender, catmint, yellow daisies. The violas are hidden behind the tiger lilies, but we have 3 kinds that come back every year. Part of my iris collection is back there too. Behind the lavender and in front of the hydrangea is SUPPOSED to be 2 giant buddleias but I lost them this year. There's 2 first-year plants in there that are only 2 feet tall so far.In other areas the Pereskovia is finally starting to recover, plus there are lots of annuals. In my meadow, not shown in this pic, the pink yarrow and german chamomile are still blooming. They have a good long season. Astilbes are blooming in the shade gardens. |

| I told my domestic partner that I think gardeners always feel like the garden will look its best "next year". I have a bench on one corner of the property and sowed hollyhocks and angelica behind it. They will both bloom "next year". So I filled in with tall cosmos and a hanging geranium for this year. I am excited about having hollyhocks, I can't believe I didn't plant them before this. |
