What's blooming, week of July 25

Blue eyed grass is having a second bloom. My hosta is just starting to bloom. I am finally seeing cosmos. Edamame (butter beans) are getting flower buds. I am seeing a return of the little blue wild sage that I pulled out of my meadow 2 years ago. I am happy to have it back, I had weeder's remorse over that one!

Daylilies are starting to bloom, shasta daisies, the gloriosas are taking over the garden. Nepeta, the new climber rose "America" is putting on a "second act". Rose campion, verbascum, Mother of Thyme, purple coneflowers are just open. The wild clematis is blanketing the pergola in white blossoms. Hostas, lamium, golden margarite and perennial sunflowers. Spiderwort, astilbe and monkshood too.

Daylilies, daylilies, daylilies. I don't notice much else because they distract me. Except for the David Austin roses that are in their 3rd flush.

GGG,

I was pretty surprised to. I did deadhead them a bit but only the really tall ones as I wanted to allow some seeds to ripen. There doesn't seem to be any correlation. It's a very vigorous 3 year old plant in full sun and average soil, I guess it just had more to give and probably the cooler weather helped. Lucky me!
