easy to grow fig tree for Maine

Hi, what's your advice on an easy to grow fig for Maine?
I bought ficus carica 'desert king' I know I must bring into garage before first frost. Hope I dont kill it! I am in love with it, and hope keep it growing in its' container for years. . .
Anyone here grow figs?

| I don't grow figs, but I have read that both Brown Turkey and Celeste do well in Maine. |
