I've got them for the first time this year. I missed the larval stage completely! I haven't seen any plant damage but one asiatic was quite loaded with adult beetles, so I neemed 2 nights ago and haven't seen any beetles since.

Bayer Rose & Flower works wonders on them. Neem is less toxic but didn't help in my garden.

Mike, Neem worked great for me. I also squish the lily beetles when I can catch them. There is hardly any of the beasties left in my garden. Lisa

Bayer Rose and Flower has also worked quite well for me this year.

3 for bayer rose and flower - the stuff works great. Even my kids keep a lookout for the "nail polish bug" as they call them!

| Bayer Rose and Flower 's active ingredient is imidacloprid. It is always best to read the label on pesticides, do a little research, THEN decide if you still want to use it. The site below provides balanced information on imidacloprid. It is toxic to honeybees, earthworms, and ladybugs, all beneficials. The NH Cooperative Extension out of UNH recommends planting daylilies instead of Asiatics or Orientals or: handpicking the bugs and larvae, spraying Safer insecticidal soap daily, using neem oil, and only as a last resort, low-impact pesticides.
