Hi,

Does anybody know if Green Mountain Transplants in Arundel, ME is still in business? The web-site is down. I don't get into Maine but maybe once a year, during the winter, so I have never been in person while everything was in operation.

They are also an agway store. You may be able to reach them that way. I didn't order from them this year, so I don't know.

Yes, they are open....And yes, not many people come to Arundel.....I happen to live accross the road from GMT so....yeah, their in business!

Tracyleea thanks for the update! They must be out of the mail order business then which is too bad. They always had good quality starter plants at reasonable prices without having to order 15-30 of the same variety.

I too noticed that their website was down. I found this thread by doing a search to see if there was any news.

Might be for the best. I ordered from them this year and received different plants than what I ordered. They were labeled what I ordered, but when they grew, they were not the variety I ordered/wanted. Not sure what happened.

Green Mountain Transplant is still in business. Their website is in the process of being updated. I did call and speak to the owner. My past experience with GMT is that once I ordered from them by mail, it was not a good experience. They have problems with mailing plants. Twice I have visited them in May and purchased plugs in person, choosing my own. It worked out very well that way. They offer a nice healthy plug for the most part, for a good price. Great selection.
