| Went to visit my SIL down in Wells this past weekend. Well come to find out she won a prize of $1000 worth of plant material and landscaping from PPP (People Places and Plants)!!!!! A couple of weekends ago Paul Tukey and Roger Swain as well as a landscape designer that they work with came to her house. They decided what it was that they were going to do and she picked out the plants that she wanted and then they came back with all the plants. She had a small group of her friends come over and they did all the "labor" They filmed it and they were going to air just a small clip on the PPP show about it, but then they decided that the filming went so well that they are going to a good part of one of their shows on the project! And they are also going to do an article in the magazine on it too! The plantings don't look like much right now, but next year and more so the following years it's going to be lovely! I've met Paul and Roger at a program that they were part of at Johnny's Selected Seeds display gardens in Albion a couple years back. I liked Paul (he's such a cutie! lol) but wasn't very impressed with Roger in person, he's rather odd and seems a bit uppity (love him on garden shows tho). Still, I would have loved it if they had come to my house and I had gotten all the "free" plants! :-)

| Please let us know when the show will air. How exciting! Paul Tukey is going to come speak at our Nov. garden club meeting. He's been very nice about accommodating the date, and our members can't wait to meet him. |

| A little preview of it aired on the 5PM news with Cindy Williams. Careful what you say about Mister Tukey, he posts in here sometimes! |

| Aw heck, he's a little to young for me, but I can still make an observation...right!? lol As for Roger...sometimes you just have to be exposed to a person more than once to really know what they are like...sometimes first impressions can be misleading and mine was probably just that? I still do love to watch him on TV and he and Paul have such great chemistry together, you can just tell that they are fond of each other, don't you think? Cathy |

| Cathy, just what would you do with $1000 worth of plants. I can just see all those pots sitting in your yard and you still heading out to the nurseries to find more! Course if everybody was gonna come help you plant that might be a different story. Kidding aside, yes please do let us know when the show will air and I will keep a lookout for the magazine article. | Oh...that's right, Judy you've been to my house! You're right...what would I do with all those plants...they'd probably be sitting side by side with all the others that are still in their pots waiting to go out into the garden. I wasn't as bad this year as in previous years...really I swear!!! I kept my buying to a minimum and have gotten a few of the plants in the ground. Should get out there and get some more done, just bought a bunch of daffodil bulbs. I've only got about three weeks left to work in the garden as I will be flying out to Denver on Oct 19 and won't be back until the beginning of Nov....the ground will most likely be well on it's way to being frozen by then????
