Bulbs and newspaper

| I have Daffodil and tulip bulbs to plant.If I layer the top of the earth above them with newspaper to help stop weed growth,would that harm the bulbs?.Or should I just use the cedar mulch?.Thanks for all advice.I love you guys.Regards Josie_2 |

| They will probably pop up through the newspaper next spring, but I wouldn't chance it--esp. if you use a thick enough layer to keep the weeds down. Use mulch instead. |
