bare root daylilies

I need quick advice from any Maine daylily lovers. I won bare root daylilies on the lily auction quite a while ago. It took so long for the plants to arrive that I thought the seller might hold off until next spring to send them. They arrived today. The weather has been so nice but I don't know if the bare roots have time to settle in before a hard frost. Any advice?

RE: bare root daylilies

It's a fine time to plant them, still not too late. Other, more fussy/tender perennials might have trouble rooting well enough this late in the season, but daylilies should be fine. Just make sure the ground is well mulched going into winter.
