Come please look at my garden. It might be a bit south of you, but at least no snow. Petehttp://www.photoblog.com/islandpete/2006/09/20/

Now that would be the ideal winter retreat for those of us in Maine.

Where is it located?

When I feel all cold and miss the sun, I just turn on the fluorescent lights in my plant stands and start gardening indoors. (grin) I can't afford a second home.

No thanks. It's too hard to ski in weather like that.

When it's cold I'll be here: http://seasonseatingsfarm.wordpress.com/2007/10/09/late-afternoon-in-the-greenhouse/

There's more established and growing well in there now than when the picture was taken. we'll be eating from this into mid December. Plants will start growing again in February.

Here is a link that might be useful: My four season greenhouse

I'm in St Petersburg FL. I know if I were ever to lose my mind and move back to my home state of Ct. I'd have to have a huge sunroom with a green house to grow my tropical plants and to stay warm. But don't fret it really does get cold here in the winter. It's been down to the low 40s. Now that makes me wearshoes and long pants. Burrrr
