Did anyone read the article in today's Phila inquirer? The gist of it is that meteorologists think our series of mild winters have ended and have been replaced by a cold winter pattern. This is supposed to be a result of a natural, cyclical change in ocean temps which may last 10-20 years. They're saying we could have severe winters like the 60's and 70's. I don't like the sound of it.
As long as we don't have the mini-Ice Age they had in the 1700's I won't be too upset. Of course this comes just when you've convinced me to try more marginal plants!
For what it's worth....yesterday I saw a flock of geese heading due north. Geese fly over ever day here and have always headed south at this time. This group was squawking loudly as it flew over and was pretty high up there. Maybe the guys in back were screaming "Turn Around You Lead Idiot!" vgkg
AND HERE'S THE COLD! I tried to access that weather storey (expired), but I recall hearing something along the lines that our docile winters are a thing of the past and then the whole yarn about emergency preparedness.
Beth, start munching! Just kidding. I work with mortgages and everytime I give my opinion about what interest rates are going to do, they do just the opposite. It's a good thing eating my words don't have calories, or I would be a candidate for gastric bypass. Suz
