| I planted a Japanese anemone in too much shade; it flowered the first year and not in the four years since. Last year I tried to divide and transplant to a sunnier spot, but much drier (top of berm), and division died off. Any advice from an expert?
I have a wide range of soil moistures, rather little sun. Basically clay/woodland soil but several beds have terrific topsoil and worms after years of adding shredded leaves. Thanks, Lisa |

| HI Lisa, I have anemones that go nuts in the roots of a hemlock tree surrounded on two sides by fence. They only get morning sun. They are shielded from afternoon sun by the fences. The soil is poor and clay. They have taken over the garden in that corner and I have to pull them up so the other plants have a chance! I'll bring some to the May swap and you can try a different variety. They are pink and bloom in Sept/Oct. Cathy |
