Saturday, May 11, 2013 from 10am to 1pm
at Gardengramma’s Gorgeous Encampment in Burtonsville (see link below)
KEY THINGS WE MUST DO (read carefully!):
BRING either something yummy, something to help eat yummy things with, or something (or somebody) to help prepare or clean up yummy things. For specific items, see below.
POST here what you plan to bring.
LEAVE NO TRACE - do not leave the food leftovers, if there are any, with Gardengramma (unless she specifically asks for them).
Non-food:
- -Sticky nametags (for the plant swappers - so we can connect faces with names & screen names, now that we are swapping in the real world)
-Sharpie markers
-Charcoal and lighter fluid, if there will be grilling
-Utensils
-Napkins
-Plates
-Cups
-Large heavy-duty garbage bags for clean-up
-Paper towels
-Toilet paper
-People to do the grilling
-PEOPLE TO DO THE CLEANING UP (Remember: we must leave no trace of the plant swap.)
Food
- -Things to drink
-Food with meat
-Food with no meat
-Food with plants (edible ones of course)
-Food with chocolate
-Dessert (with or without chocolate)
-Dessert (with or without plants)
-We'll try weird things in the name of science, plants, and....chocolate. Chocolate zucchini casserole? Endive ice cream? We're game.
*There are electric outlets for crockpots, a microwave for reheating, and a refrigerator for cold things.

|
| Since we will likely have some rain....I will bring lots of "rag towels" (please bring some if you can) so folks can dry off before entering the house to use the bathroom. (And printed a sign that says "please remove shoes & towel off" for the door...) |

| We will grill rain or shine. We have hot dogs and hamburgers- if it really storms we can do those in the kitchen. Whatever does not show up we'll work around. We can't wait to see you all again. Hugs, garden granma and grandpa. |

| Oh gosh...I'm so sorry I didn't get a chance to taste many of the food offerings. I must remember to get up to the house sooner next time. My enchalada casserole was gone when I arrived....I guess it was good....lol. What salads I did eat were scrumptious, and Annebert's baked beans were out of this world. Thanks everyone for bringing all the great food. Bonnie |
