WANTED: Lemon grass

Posted by kimka z7 (jkkaplan@erols.com) on

Anybody have a start or a division of Lemon grass. I want to try it in pot on the deck as a mosquito repellent as well as harvest a little.

If you are coming to the MAG swap on May 8, I could get it there. If not we could get together some other time.
My email is jkkaplan"at"erols.com.

For trade I've got
Monkshood
Spiderwort (most likely z blue)
Lemon balm (warning invasive, best as a pot plant)
Obedient plant (pink blooming, can be invasive)
From this year's winter sowing
Calendula neon
Thimble flower (blue)
Ditch lilies

RE: WANTED: Lemon grass

Kim, I bought some lemongrass at an Asian grocery, stuck it in water until it made roots, and then potted it up. Super easy. Keep it well-watered and fed, and count on putting it into a much bigger pot in a very short time.
