| Food and Stuff List for the 2009 Fall MAG Swap
on Sunday, September 27, at 10 am (ish) at Black Hill Regional Park in Boyds, Maryland This is the secret to our great swaps - those who don't bring PLANTS bring FOOD. Preferably homemade and loaded with calories 'cause it's tough work doing all that trading and socializing. Extra points for food with chocolate. And if you have no plants and no talent in the kitchen, we still need supplies, and drinks, and ice, and potato chips.....
Also, this is a great place to show off your very special recipes that your family won't touch, like lavender flavored shortbread or zucchini fudge or whatever - CAUSE IN THE INTERESTS OF BOTANICAL SCIENCE, WE'LL EAT IT!
Questions? just include them in your post here, or feel free to post them here. Someone will surely jump in!
Have fun finding new homes for your surplus plants and discovering new plants you didn't know you needed!
Wishing everyone a great swap! Happy gardening! |

| I'll bring babaganoush, pita bread and a pasta salad. Will there be a grill nearby that we can use? If so, I can also bring chicken wings for the grill if someone is planning to bring charcoal & lighter fluid. Jette |
|
| I will bring Texas Sheetcake and MAYBE pasta salad. Jen |

| Brownies to ensure that we have our quota of chocolate. |
|
| Cups and napkins, cutlery, hot dogs, ice. Still thinking about what else, but I will NOT be bringing anything for dessert as my oven is kaput. |
|
| If anyone could bring condiments for the hot dogs, that would be nice. Since I don't use ketchup or relish, I don't want to buy any and have leftovers I can't use up. |
|
| The swap will be on Sunday, September 27, starting at 10:00 am (or so) at the south end of parking lot #3 (associated with shelters D, E, and F) at Black Hill Regional Park near Germantown, Maryland. Bathrooms are across the street at the visitors' center. There is an extremely nice playground nearby (not in sight of the parking lot), and there is an off-leash dog park a little further away. There should be at least some shade in the parking lot, and there are picnic tables and a grill, up a trail, that will definitely be shady. |
|
| I'll bring some condiments for the hotdogs - mustard, ketchup, chopped onions -- and mixed nuts. Sorry; no chocolate... |
