Do Japanese Beetles eat Purple redbuds?

The beetles devour my sand cherry/plum tree every year so I wondered if they also enjoy the red buds. I was thinking of purchasing some Forest Pansy Redbuds. Any comments will help

I don't have any Forest Pansy Redbuds but I have the regular green leafed ones and also Chinese Redbuds. The Japanese beetles have never bothered them but maybe it's because they're too busy eating all my roses in the front yard and the redbuds are in the back yard.

I don't think it's likely. I've owned a lot of redbuds and never seen any problems.

I have a 'Forest Pansy' redbud about 20 feet away from a Decumaria vine and a rose, both of which always attract Japanese beetles. The neighbor's crape myrtles are close as well, and they are magnets for the same bugs. I've never noticed any Japanese beetles on the 'Forest Pansy' at all.
