I had 3 the year before last, but only one came back last year. Don't know what will happen to it over this 'non-winter' we're having, and even if it does come back, it doesn't mean that it would be able to handle a real winter.

That reaffirms what I was thinking about it's hardiness. It's supposed to be hardy here but I see that it hasn't come back from previous years where I go walking. I guess I'll have to bring it into my garage forever! I may plant starts in different areas to see where it survives. Were yours all the the same spot?

Fascinating. I planted three in fall of 04 and one came back but lacked vigor. I figured that I had planted them too late in the season for them to get established (they were in 3 inch pots.) I plan to try again. I see them listed as hardy to at least zone 7. Many references say to zone 6, so they should be ok here. It's comforting to know other's experience with this.

According to what I read about this beautiful grass it should be hardy here. However in my limited travels around the mid-atlantic area I have never noticed it. Sorry. Steve in Baltimore

Is drainage the issue? So many things would be hardy here if the crowns didn't rot out.
