Looking for wooden barrel (whole, not half)

Posted by meadow_lark 7 (My Page) on

Does anyone know where I can find a whole wooden barrel? Doesn't matter if it's old or new... It does not need to have a top, but it will need to hold water... at least 1/2 way... Size doesn't matter (if you know what I mean...)

I'm in Leonardtown... but won't mind driving a ways to get one... (Besides, you never know what nurseries I might pass along the way!) (grin)

Thanks so much...

Be sure to check any of your local wineries... red wine is aged in wooden barrels and they can only be used for a certain number of years... worth a try. I've heard of them "Free" in California and $75 in PA... Doesn't hurt to check it out. :) Good luck! Let me know if you find any!

I seem to recall seeing them at the Anne Arundel Co. Farmers Coop in Glen Burnie. Next time I stop by I could confirm that, or you could give them a call at (410) 766-8400. They are a Southern States store, so you could check one closer to you. www.southernstates.com

Here is a link that might be useful: Southern States
