Ginger from fall swap

Please forgive as I do not remember the very kind gentleman's name who gave us (my daughter and I) a ginger in a 2qt pot. It is in the basement, dormant. I've never had gingers so am not sure what to do. I was wondering if I should pot it up into a slightly larger pot and put it in a sunny window to get it started. Thanks. Ree

Hi Ree, I am not an expert on gingers, but I believe your idea is sound. I believe this is a good time to do that. Steve in Baltimore

Thanks Steve. I think I will go ahead and pot the baby up.
I am so ready for spring not the snow that's coming today.
