The last time I looked for wintergreen was about six years ago. At the time, the only place that carried it was Betty's Azalea Ranch.

I think maybe, possibly, perhaps, I've seen it at Merrifield since then, but can't guarantee that.

I think you're out of luck on currants locally. I don't think anyone here knows what they are. Try mail ordering from Nourse in MA. I think they have some better varieties than the standard Red Lake.

I may have seen wintergreen at Potomac Gardens last year, but I'm not positive.

If by wintergreen you mean gaultheria procumbens, I saw some nice ones at Behnkes in Beltsville last Fall.

Try Edible Landscaping - they are not "locaL' but not too far away either - they come to the Blandy Arboretum Sale in VA every year.

I saw some wintergreen at D.R. Snell in Mt Airy yesterday. Tried to grow it here twice but both times it died...I remember it from childhood walks in the woods in Western Mass. ( sigh) I may try it again...nostalgia makes me spend money.

I'll have to keep my fingers crossed. I always have horrible luck with potted plants and this is my second year gardening outside. Hopefully some of the plants will survive :)
