deer /vs/witchhazel

I have been planning to purchase a couple of witch hazels this spring. Now I'm wondering if they will just be expensive deer fodder. I did not see them on the list of deer resistent plants but that could just be because they are not very common.

Does anyone have any experience with this? If witchhazel is something they just eat when very hungry, I'll go ahead and get it and hope I'm lucky. On the other hand if it is in the same category as hostas, I'll save my money for something else.

Thanks, BB
