| I have a 'skypencil' variety of holly and chose it because the planting space needs a narrow plant. It's done well and after six years is about 2'x10'. I'd like to encourage it to get a little fuller, maybe reaching three feet or so in width. Has anyone trimmed their's down? Did it get any wider? Where does the new growth start? |

| I've never had/trimmed this type of holly, but typically, when you prune, they send out more branches (making it fuller) from the place where you trimmed it, so if you trim it back to 6', it would be fuller from there up. But again, I've never tried trimming a skypencil. -bonnie |
