| Can I plant michelia skinneriana, the banana shrub outside in ground in zone 7a? I got this plant in a 4inch pot last year and it is in 6inch pot indoors and it is already 1/1/2 ft tall with continuous blooms. I am kind of debating whether to move it into bigger size pot or plant it outside in the ground. Is anyone growing this plant outside in this zone in Northern Virginia. |

| My mother-in-law has a Michelia figo in southeastern Louisiana, where it often gets below 30 but never gets below 20. Apparently Michelia skinneriana is supposed to be hardier, but still, I'm doubtful. How lucky do you feel :-)? |
