John, I am down in the banana belt but have sweet peppers up under lights. I think anytime now good for cold crops under lights. This will allow plenty of time for a transplant and hardening off period. Steve in Baltimore County.

Last year, I direct seeded Broccoli on Mother's Day, yes in early May. The plants did great, but no crowns. I'm guessing I didn't get any crowns because of the Harlequin bugs. They caused havoc!

BTW, I'm just outside Port, so you're not to far from me.

I have about 40 plants under the lights. Some planted 2 weeks ago and some planted yesterday. They should be just fine. If the first set gets too root bound I'll use the second set.
