Definitely feed your Austin roses now. Austins are heavy feeders. If you need more information on Austins or have other questions you can post your message on rose forum. It is an excellent place to get information on roses in any area. You will get a lot of friendly advices. The only danger you can be enabled into more roses.

I've had good luck with seeds from the box stores and my local hardware store. I went with seed catalogues for special things this year. If you're just starting out, go with the local sources.

Most seeds are produced by only a very few actual growers. The seed "companies" you usually buy from are mostly just repackagers of seeds, not growers. There are a few exceptions. So your best bet is usually the cheapest seeds. Here's a link to GardenWeb's resource list. Great info here.

I have been going around feeding roses with half a coffee can of 10-10-10 - available at garden centers and Agway and fairly cheap (though not as cheap as last year because of the zoom in oil prices). Put it in a ring around the plant, at least 6" away from the stems. And plan on feeding again in 6-8 weeks.
