Bee Balm

Hi All,

Last year I planted two bee balm plants and they did very well. I can see this year's crop starting to come up, and WOW! It has expanded quite a bit beyond last year's small area. I am happy about the coverage that is showing right now, but am wondering if I have a monster in the making. I have already pulled up a few stray invaders whose locations weren't desirable. Is there something I should do now to limit next year's inevitable spread? Or is this an issue to be addressed much later in the season. I love them because of the hummingbirds they attract and I think they are very pretty. Can I hem them in with other plantings such as columbine and astilbe or will those plants just be overrun by the bee balm? Any advice? Thanks!

Jo
