Help me identify...

stephsgarden

I have these plants growing up in the middle of a shady area. We just bought our house last year, so I do not know what was planted in the past. The plant's leaves look decidely like a geranium, and that's what I thought they were, some type of hardy geranium. But then this weekend the plants burst into bloom. While the blooms look like hardy geranium flowers, they were yellow. I did't think geraniums could be yellow. Now I think this must be some type of native maryland wildflower. Any help identifying would be greatly appreciated. I have plenty of these plants, and would like to include them in the spring swap if they are something people would want. Thanks so much.

Stephanie
