RE: What's Blooming When ?

Just moved in? I can tell you what's blooming in my yard right now...

candytuft
lamium
nepeta (it will go on all summer)
fothergilla
Carolina spicebush (just started opening buds today)
Redbud
Strawberries
Stevia
Ornamental crabapple

Still have in bloom daffodils, muscari.

Clematis montana has buds but not yet blooming--another week I'd guess

Already finished blooming:
Cherries, both fruiting and ornamental
Star magnolia

A lot depends on the microclimate. I have several of the above spicebush, but only one is blooming (the one that gets the most sun). Others are in leaf and one still dormant.

Interesting - my spicebush also started blooming yesterday. I could smell it as soon as I got out of my car yesterday evening.

Also lilac
daffodils are near their end,
hybrid tulips in full bloom

Look on our FAQ page - we did that for two years in a row. Its a pretty good list.
