I'm in Ashburn (Northern VA) and mine are already legging out and blooming! Wonder what this crazy cold snap will do to them, though. These get full sun from about 12 on.

I saw some while walking in a neighborhood garden. It seemed to be doing well. Lots of buds.

Only about 1/4 of mine came back this year. Last Spring I planted purple and pink verbena, but I made the mistake, I think, of pruning in early winter. I couldn't take the ugly.
Only a few purples have returned but they look great! I have read that it is considered an annual to some folks, but NC winters just aren't that bad.
If yours aren't doing something by now, it doesn't look good. I'm going to clean out my bed of pinks next weekend. I think I'll try phlox this year...

I think mine croaked... :-(

I lost half of mine. What is still alive is blooming, though!
