I have 2 varieties in hugely hot, dry, sun.
They do beautifully.
I don't know how well they do by seed, but you can have handfulls in the fall. The birds eventually eat them, but they make gorgeous purple berries.

They use it as a hedge at UMES in Princess Anne. It seems to be pretty tolerant and looks good

I'll plant in full sun. That's how it is at cylburn too.

Anyone know a good source for these? the local nurseries won't get them in till early to mid summer.

I also plant mine in full sun. They are a hardy shrub and do quite well with benign neglect.
