Rock Creek Muncaster Rd Construction

Hi!

I drive down Muncaster Rd near Derwood (Montgomery County) every day and the recent construction there next to the Agricultural Farm Park. It appears that the bridge is being reconstructed as well as a large distance on either side has been denuded of vegetation. Besides having bulldozed a large area, there is a high effort to prevent runoff into Rock Creek. Large water catch basins have also been constructed on the flood plain.

However, this area has been left alone until now. I recently noticed that there are/were mayapples growing on the west side on the edge of the dozed section. I would love to rescue some of them, but can't do it on my way to work. The sight of it breaks my heart every time I see it (every day!). There are always many workers there in the morning who could be approached for permission.

Has anyone here noticed this or have any insights on rescuing plants in Montgomery County?
