I'll definitely try to make the sale on the 20th. I'd love to hit the earlier ones but it depends on where my kids swim meet is on the 12th. It sometimes feels like our lives revolve around swim meets and practices. Thanks for the info.

Oh god, my husband will kill me if I suggest this. He doesn't think I need even one more plant, and he doesn't know that I have at least two plant orders (and over 150 plants) that are yet to arrive.

I am wondering however if there is some way for me to make him think that we should take the pups and go to the Arboretum to just look at all the Azaleas in bloom. Right now, he's on an Azalea kick, so maybe there is a chance.

I find unusual azaleas at a weekend church sale in Laytonsville (upper Montgomery County, at intersection of Rt. 108 and Brink Rd.). They get them from White's Nursery, which supplies the River Hill garden for the Am. Horticultural Society in Alexandria. Lots of Glenn Dale, Harris, and other cultivars I don't see at other places. I don't know whether this nursery is involved with the Brookside sales -- maybe Azaleaphile would know?

They have a very long list of what cultivars are available. I don't know what number to call for the church, but I know the number for the nursery is 301-831-9164. It's worth checking their list. Last week I asked about 'Rivermist' and one of the ladies made sure to bring one for me to pick up today.

They sell on Saturdays in May and June at an open lot at that intersection. Big elementary school parade next week so Rt. 108 will be closed 11-2, but it's an idea for anyone who drives out that way on Saturdays.
