I think what Christine has (from her description last night) is a horned ("space-age") rebloomer I love called "Reincarnation". Reblooms reliably around here, but prone to rot if not in a well-drained spot; you may want to mix extra sand/gravel in where you intend to plant it.
Oh -- yes. I had that, and may have given it to you. Soft beigey pink/cream/lavender. Bred by Don Spoon of Winterberry Gdns in Winchester VA, very pretty, but not a rebloomer. He named it because the darker markings on the base of the lower petals looked like an oriental carpet.
If anyone wants to see a BUNCH of cool irises, head out to Meadowlark Gardens near Wolf Trap this Saturday -- the AIS is having a show. it'll give you an idea of what to look for at their sale, same location, on July 21st.
I'll let you know when they're done bloom -- unless you can dig iris up without causing them to stop? I have a bunch to let go. LynninMD is coming tomorrow to dig, so she gets some. :) Wanna come? C.
