Newbie--Plant this weekend?

Forgive my very basic question, but I'm new to gardening. I had been planning to plant my herbs and few tomato plants this weekend, but wonder if it is too cold given the frosty nights we've had this week. I'm planting basic herbs like tarragon, oregano, basil, rosemary and two tall tomato plants.

Thanks for indulging, I know I've seen other posts on planting but didn't see about this cold week.

I live in Silver Spring, just north of DC.

You're definately fine with most of the herbs which, with the exception of basil, won't be bothered by a bit of frost. You can probably, however, even put the basil and tomatoes in this weekend and just watch the weather and cover next week if needed. In any event, by next weekend you should be safe on even the tomatoes and basil for sure.
