Victor Crape Myrtle

Hello, I have a Victor Crape Myrtle which we planted a little over a month ago. I'm wondering if you can make this shrub look like a miniature crape myrtle tree as it grows? In other words, can you keep the bottom trimmed so it will later look like a small tree? If so, what is the best way to go about this? Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately, with 'Victor' maturing at only about 5 ot 6', it would be very difficult to get the proper shape. It tends to grow very shrubby. If small, you might have a better chance.
